Creux du Van (Schweiz)

Wie eine Arena aus Fels, erbaut durch die Kräfte der Natur während der letzten Eiszeit, hebt sich dieses monumentale Gebilde aus Stein an der Grenze zwischen den Kantonen Neuchâtel und Waadt empor. Wer mutig ist, lässt beim Verweilen die Beine über die bis zu 160m hohen Felsvorsprung baumeln. Vor dem Abstieg darf man nicht den Ausblick auf das Alpenpanorama des wenige Hundert Meter entfernten Gipfels des Soliat verpassen. Jede Jahreszeit lässt die Landschaft ganz anders aussehen. Am liebsten mag ich jedoch den Herbst der die Blätter auf den Bäumen in ein buntes Meer aus Farben verwandelt, den Nebel über den Seen im Alpenvorland wie Zuckerwatte erscheinen lässt und die Gipfel der Alpen in ein unschuldiges erstes Weiß tauchen lässt. Ich empfehle eine Rundtour von Champ-Du-Moulin über die Schlucht der Areuse und den Abstieg über Noiraugue zurück zum Ausgangspunkt.

Like an arena made of rock, built by the forces of nature during the last ice age, this monumental stone structure rises up on the border between the cantons of Neuchâtel and Vaud. Those who are brave can dangle their legs over the up to 160m high ledge while lingering. Before descending, you shouldn’t miss the view of the alpine panorama of the Soliat summit a few hundred meters away. Every season of the year makes the landscape look very different. But what I like best is autumn, which transforms the leaves on the trees into a sea of colors, makes the fog over the lakes in the foothills of the Alps appear like candy floss and makes the peaks of the mountains look innocent and white. I recommend a round trip from Champ-Du-Moulin over the Areuse gorge and the descent via Noiraugue back to the starting point.
